No Surgery Needed

I was diagnosed with a lazy eye. I was scheduled for surgery last July by my ophthalmologist. Then, my mom ran into Dr. Poma and she advised that we come in for a second opinion. When I went in to see Dr. Poma she told me not only do I have a lazy eye, but my eyes were not working together. She then recommended I start vision therapy. I met with Ms. Sherry, a vision therapist, once a week. She had me doing activities that made my eyes work together as a team. After many weeks of hard work and dedication from myself, Dr. Poma’s team, and my parents we have corrected my eyes and I am extremely excited. I went back to my original ophthalmologist and she said I no longer need corrective eye surgery.
